INK\Cloth

I am a multidisciplinary artist based in Leeds UK, with a practice spanning textiles, performance, and socially engaged art. Rooted in quilt-making, garment forms, and innovative fabric design, my work explores memory, identity and the traces of histories often left unseen.

Through materials, ink, and cloth, I create spaces for storytelling and dialogue, with a particular focus on amplifying voices from LGBTQ+ and other marginalised communities.

Welcoming Collaborations & Commissions

  • With an MA in Textiles (Mixed Media) from the Royal College of Art, I have developed a diverse and innovative practice that combines a deep respect for traditional craft with a drive to push the boundaries of textile art. My work spans both hard and soft materials, transforming cloth into sculptural forms, stitched narratives, and performative garments that challenge how we think about textiles in contemporary art.

At the core of my practice is a commitment to storytelling and the exploration of identity, history, and social inequality. Quilts, garments, and layered textile forms become vessels for incomplete or unspoken stories, some drawn from my personal narrative, others reflecting collective struggles, particularly those of marginalised communities. Each piece embodies absence and memory, inviting viewers to imagine what remains unseen and to engage in conversations about resilience, belonging, and representation.

Live performance and collaboration are also central to my practice. I work with choreographers and dance companies to create costumes that merge fabric, body and movement, enhancing both the aesthetic and the narrative dimensions of performance. These projects, alongside my socially engaged community work, position my practice as both deeply personal and widely connective.

By drawing on the cultural histories of fabric while experimenting with new materials and techniques, I aim to transform textiles into powerful tools for storytelling, dialogue, and social commentary.
